'Forlorn'

This original painting is from my first collection of work 'A Sense of Place'

It was inspired by a trip I took to Glenveagh National Park, Co. Donegal.

Golden Eagles were attempted to be reintroduced back into the North West of Ireland however, due to the lack of biodiversity within the ecosystem that would support these majestic animals, allowing them to  survive and thrive it has proven difficult.

The cluster of flora in the centre of this piece represents the kind of meadow like conditions needed to sustain the wildlife that these animals need to thrive as we attempt to rebuild nature along with the relationship we have with it.
